Shelters

Temporary emergency shelter for homeless families with children. Families typically stay about a month. We provide help with finding and in some situations helping pay for stable housing outside of shelter. We also provide dinner, breakfast, showers, laundry, minimal storage space. We have a day shelter where families may go during the day for similar services.  Sobriety required at time of entry.

30-day emergency shelter for women fleeing domestic violence, no men, phone intake/screening, stay up to 2 years if in transitional housing plan

Washington Co. accepts families with children (men and/or women), no domestic violence, 3-family limit; phone screening. Maximum stay of six weeks. Medications/treatment for mental illness must be followed to satisfy case management. Children must be enrolled in and attend public school or Head Start during their stay. Requires a drug screening test with clean results for all participants 13 years or older.  Case management on-site, referrals for housing, employment and education.

Manages three shelters for families with children or mothers in 8th month of pregnancy. Waiting list for Community Action, Good Neighborhood Center and Family Bridge.
