Temporary emergency shelter for homeless families with children. Families typically stay about a month. We provide help with finding and in some situations helping pay for stable housing outside of shelter. We also provide dinner, breakfast, showers, laundry, minimal storage space. We have a day shelter where families may go during the day for similar services.  Sobriety required at time of entry.

A family run shelter that provides emergency shelter with supportive empowering services. Families have up to 6 weeks to meet their goals with the help of staff.(business/intake) Bus service: 76, 78.

Family Bridge

Washington Co. accepts families with children (men and/or women), no domestic violence, 3-family limit; phone screening. Maximum stay of six weeks. Medications/treatment for mental illness must be followed to satisfy case management. Children must be enrolled in and attend public school or Head Start during their stay. Requires a drug screening test with clean results for all participants 13 years or older.  Case management on-site, referrals for housing, employment and education.

Community Action Family Shelter

Manages the wait list for three shelters for families with children or mothers in 9th month of pregnancy. Waiting list for Community Action, Good Neighbor Center and Family Bridge.  Food box available 5:30p.m.-9p.m., Weekends; 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m., Mon.-Fri.

Salvation Army Female Emergency Shelter (SAFES)

Emergency shelter for women. No men or children allowed on site.  30-90 day program, but extensions available if you have an active housing plan. Low barrier shelter.  50 beds. Showers, laundry, lockers, case management, and housing assistance are available. 

 


Day Access service 7 a.m.-11 p.m. 7/week.

Raphael House of Portland

Female identified only. 24-hour crisis line. Emergency housing for victims fleeing a domestic violence situation. Advocacy includes support groups, children's groups, referrals, and emotional support. 60-day limit.
